Greetings all, and welcome to the Mossy Grove Tea Co. blog.

I wanted to take the time to introduce myself and my company here, why I started it, what I hope to get from it, and what it means to me.

My name is Lawren and I am the founder and creator of Mossy Grove Tea Co. and here is my story:

2020 will forever be marked in everyone's history as the year that changed everything—a paradigm shift. Not a single person was left unscathed by it, I think we could all agree. I was working at easily one of my favorite jobs at the time: a tea store. I have always been a fan of tea so being a Tea Guide was such a fun job for me as I already had a passion for tea, and it was a great opportunity for me to expand that knowledge as well and share that passion with my customers. Who knew that something so traditional could be timeless and useful?

After coming to realize that teas are more than just the tasty drink we can enjoy no matter what time of year it is, it unlocked a curiosity within me to explore all the other herbs and plants in nature that have medicinal properties as well. When the pandemic struck and we were all forced to stay home for a while, I decided to take that time to further explore herbalism and botany. It wasn't until about 5 months into quarantine that I found out that I was not going to be going back to work and that I no longer would be able to share my passion with others.

Crushed by the news of no longer being able to go back to work, as well as a personal misfortune (in the same month, no less), I had to work through a lot of loss and grief to find myself as a person. It was as if everything came together for me and I was able to process everything in my life at that point and transform myself into the person I am today. I had gained a lot of personal freedom and confidence in myself to the point where I felt like I could finally do anything! I decided to take some courses in herbalism and entrepreneurship to help me along to conceive this endeavor.

I've always had personal interests in helping others, whether it be through first-aid, volunteering, mental health advocacy, or any sort of acts of service. I figured if I were to start my own business, I would want to make sure that I could combine all of my passions in order to help others and give back to my community.

That's where Mossy Grove Tea Co. comes into the picture. After discovering my newfound love and appreciation for nature's medicine, I felt compelled to share the love with people like you! We have become so far removed from nature and its healing benefits as a modern society. Realizing that nature gives us everything we need to heal ourselves already is something that I wanted to incorporate in my products. A lot of modern medicine aims to stimulate naturally-occurring medicinal properties, and even the bath and beauty products that we know and love incorporate common herbs or flowers that have more benefits behind them than just their familiar scents. In addition to creating products that will help achieve overall wellness and balance, I hope to bring an educational and empowering experience that allows you to reconnect to nature and hopefully come to love and appreciate it as much as I do.
